This is a 3-D ultrasound they took of Chloe's little face yesterday. Ain't she cute as as can be? I don't know about you, but I think it's amazing what they can do with modern technology. It looks like a photo!

House pics

Some folks have been asking to see pics of the house. Since the blogger server seems to be super-quick today, I thought I'd oblige by uploading a few. These are from a few months ago before monsoon season--the plants in the backyard are much bigger after 2 months of rains. The grass plants shot up from about 1 foot to 4 feet in no time!

I gotta say, as Chloe gets bigger, these ultrasound pics get weirder. She's getting pretty smooshed up in there! She's doing well though and kicking away day and night. Hyper girl :)

It's a girl!

We got our 3rd ultrasound yesterday (20.5 weeks along) and found out we're having a girl. She's looking healthy and on-track so far. :) I've included an ultrasound pic below. It's a little hard to figure out what's going on in some of it because she's all smooshed, but that's definitely her face on the bottom right. Above that is one of her hands. To the left, everything's muddled together, but I know that the little black hole in the middle is her stomach. After that, anyone's guess is as good as mine!

We also have a name for her: Chloe Rebecca Hobbart. For a bigger version of the pic, just double-click the image below:

Me and Sarah at the pool

This is just a cool pic that my husband took of me and my old pal Sarah (a.k.a. Turtle) in our swimming pool. Notice how much more relaxed Sarah looks than me. That's cuz she can drink beer and I can't. Sigh. Ah well, I'm sure it'll all be worth it. :)

Ultrasound at 12 weeks

Wow. I just realized that I haven't posted anything since January. Tsk tsk. Well, here's the best picture I've got recently--an ultrasound of our kiddo at 12 weeks! I wish I had a good video of the ultrasound. The kid was literally jumping during the scan. It was so cool!

Our new backyard

This is a picture of the street where our new house will be. It was taken way back in March when they just started building, so you can't see much, but I like it because you can see what the view from the backyard will look like. Sea Turtle

This week's illustration friday topic: Aging.

I chose sea turtles to represent aging because they are so cool when they get old. They're grizzled and mellow and BIG. These suckers can get as large as 400 pounds in their later years, but they're still as graceful as can be in the water. Damn that's cool. Plus, sea turtles have been around since the time of the dinosaurs, which is pretty cool too.

My husband has managed to turn me into a golf nut. I never thought it would happen, but the combination of beautiful scenery and not-so-strenuous exercise has me hooked. It's a great way to get outside without doing something awful like jogging.

Black and white damsel fish

Like a bunch of folks, this is my first posting to illustration friday.

I picked B&W damsel fish because I've always thought they were some of the coolest salt water fish around. They're too aggressive to take home, unfortunately, (won't play nice with other fish) but they're nice in pics at least.
